Asakusa and Ueno Park Tour on March 26

Today’s tours were featured by a constant rain fall in the morning and afternoon. We were not greeted by Tokyo Skytree being invisible in the thick clouds. Yet we were able to host several groups of avid visitors who were eager to know more about Asakusa and Ueno Park. We were glad that nobody got lost in the umbrella jungles. Thank you for your attentiveness and patience. We’d like to say this rainy day was not very bad with a rain-soaked cherry blossom showing different beauty of transition, but we honestly hope that we’ll see you again under the fairer weather next time. Till then. I hope our guides were able to help you spend a better rainy day. Meiji Shrine and Harajuku Tour on March 12th, 2023

  • 2023.03.13

Thank you for choosing our Meiji Shrine and Harajuku tour on March 12th, 2023. We welcomed 8 guests from Bulgaria, Canada, Australia, France, and Israel. I hope all of you enjoyed and shared interesting conversations with us during the tour. As promised, group photos and snapshots are attached to remember the fun times we had. It was a sunny day and really comfortable for the tour. However, we could not see any wedding ceremony at the shrine because today was Butsumetsu, “Buddha’s death” which was the most unlucky day of the six Rokuyo-days. We hope to see it on your next visit. We have found the flag of Ireland and many people who wore green clothes at the Omotesando Avenu. The parade for celebrating St. Patrick’s day on March 17th was held from 13 pm to 15 pm. This national holiday commemorates St. Patrick, the patron saint who brought Christianity to Ireland in the 5th century. This event is held all over the world as a festival to celebrate the arrival of spring. We always strive to give high-quality tours. Your feedback is very important and useful to us. If you have a moment, please consider posting comments about tours […]

Witnessing a Beautiful Carriage Parade! March 8;The East Garden of the Imperial Palace

  • 2023.03.10

Thank you for joining our tour of the East Garden of the Imperial Palace on March 8th. We were delighted to have six guests from the UK and the US on that day. We were fortunate enough to witness a very unusual parade on that day. It was a procession of traditional carriage carrying foreign ambassadors who were going to attend the imperial ceremony at the Palace. The first carriage procession dispatched by the Imperial Household Agency left Tokyo Station’s Imperial Entrance at 10:00 a.m. carrying the newly appointed ambassador of Fiji to the Imperial Palace. The use of carriages for transportation has been suspended since March 2020 to prevent people from gathering along the route due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The carriage procession we witnessed was the first in three years. It was a beautiful morning with clear skies and a pleasant breeze. With cherry blossom season just around the corner, we are eagerly anticipating its arrival. We hope that you have enjoyed our tour. Your feedback is important and helpful to us. If you enjoyed our tour, please considerposting a review on our TripAdvisor/Facebook etc. Your comments will help contributeto higher-quality tours. Once again, thank you for choosing […]

SPRING is JUST AROUND THE CORNER March 5, 2023; ASAKUSA & UENO

  • 2023.03.06

The restrictions of COVID-19 have been finally coming off, and Japan’s life is returning to its usual liveliness. Thank you very much for your choosing TFWT tours among various volunteer guide groups.  We welcomed 9 guests together from USA (Ueno), Australia, England and Canada (Asakusa).  We really hope all of you enjoyed our tours and obtained one of nice memories of Japan. Asakusa is a place which has an old history going back over 1000 years, centered on Sensoji Temple. Although the remnants of its prosperity during the Edo period had been lost once by the war, but the main architectures has already been rebuilt and refurbished.   It is really a place where traditional Japanese culture that has continued since the Edo period were condensed.  Construction of Tokyo Sky Tree, the world tallest self standing broad casting tower, in 2012 brought additional attraction to this area. Ueno Park is well-known as one of Tokyo’s leading cherry blossoms viewing spot, and we have received a lot of guest entries for the cherry blossom season that will soon start. However, please let me note, even Japanese people living in Tokyo, they don’t know so much about historical sites located at Ueno […]

We hope our guests had a good performance at the Marathon. It is getting warmer and warmer after March starts. Thanks to this warm weather, we will be able to see cherry blossoms earlier than we expect.  However, we have already enjoyed some kind of cherry and plum blossoms in the East Garden of The Imperial Palace. The weather forecast on TV predicts the first day of the cherry blossoms every day. The earliest day of that would be on March 14th at Fukuoka in Kyushu. The first day of Tokyo’s would be on March 19th. If you have a plan to visit Japan after this, you can enjoy cherry […]
