The East Garden of the Imperial Palace Tour on July 27, 2024

East Gardens of the Imperial Palace

Many thanks for joining us on our tours at Imperial Palace in the afternoon on July 29th. We welcomed 12 guests from the United States, Austria, Spain, and Ireland. It was a tremendous opportunity for us to meet wonderful guests from many countries and to share interesting conversations. We’ve posted group photos and snapshots so that you can look back on the fun times we had.

It was an extremely  hot day. In Japan, there is an old wisdom called “uchimizu”, a simple way to cool off. All you have to do is to sprinkle water on the streets and gardens, especially in the evening. As the water evaporates, it takes away the heat from the surroundings, which makes you feel a little cooler. Did you notice that there was an  “uchimizu” area outside the Tokyo Station, where we gathered?

Although the tour was conducted during the extreme hot weather, we enjoyed sharing not only the history related to the Imperial Palace, but also the differences in our daily lives with people from various countries.

Once again, thank you so much for joining us on our tour. We always make efforts to improve our tours and highly appreciate your feedback on our TripAdvisor/Facebook etc. Your comments motivate us to continue our volunteer activities. Please tell your family and friends about how you enjoyed our tour. Next time you’re in Tokyo, please join another one of our tours (Asakusa, Meiji Shrine/Harajuku, and Ueno Park). We’d love to see you again.
