Although it was a bit cold today, the sky was clear. It was the peak season for autumn leaves, but most of the leaves of the ginkgo tree, the symbol tree of Tokyo, had already fallen. Many places are planning to hold nighttime illuminations to celebrate the Christmas season.

I heard that one of our guests are planning to enjoy osechi ryori over the New Year’s holiday. Have you ever tried it? Osechi ryori is a special kind of Japanese food we eat during the New Year holidays. It’s like a big box full of many different tasty dishes. Each dish has a special meaning and is believed to bring good luck and happiness for the coming year. For example, eating certain foods is said to help you live a long and healthy life. Making osechi ryori takes a lot of time, so some people have started buying it at department stores. I highly recommend that you try osechi ryori if you have the opportunity.
