Golden Week has come
In Japan, the period from April 29 to May 6 is known as Golden Week, one of the country’s longest holiday seasons, often lasting 8 to 10 days.
May 3, the day of your visit, is Constitution Memorial Day. It marks the anniversary of the enforcement of Japan’s postwar constitution in 1947.
As part of Japan’s postwar commitment to peace, Article 9 of the Constitution declares that Japan renounces war and will never use force or threats of force to resolve international disputes.
Japan is one of the rare nations in the world to have made a permanent pledge to peace. The Japanese people deeply hope for a future free from war and conflict.
Enjoy the Seasonal Beauty of the Imperial Palace East Gardens
This is a wonderful season to visit the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, as many flowers begin to bloom. Today, the wisteria was in full, graceful bloom.
In the mid-May, you can look forward to seeing irises in the Ninomaru Garden.
We warmly invite you to return and experience the changing beauty of the seasons.
