Many thanks for joining Tokyo Free Walking Tour at Asakusa on July 5, 2025. We welcomed 12 guests from Australia, US, Austria and South Africa. It was a tremendous opportunity for us to meet wonderful guests from many countries and share interesting conversations. As promised, group photos and snapshots are attached so that you can remember the fun times we had during the tour.

Tanabata is a Japanese festival celebrated on July 7th, based on a romantic legend about two stars, Orihime and Hikoboshi, who can meet only once a year across the Milky Way. People celebrate by writing wishes on colorful paper strips called tanzaku and hanging them on bamboo branches. You can see Tanabata decorations in public places like shopping streets.

Furin is traditional Japanese wind chimes, often made of glass, metal, or ceramic. When the wind blows, they produce a soft, refreshing sound that symbolizes summer in Japan. People hang them outside their homes or at temples and shrines to enjoy their cooling sound during hot, humid months. Furin is also believed to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits.
