Thank you very much for joining the Tokyo Free Walking Tour in Asakusa on July 30, 2025. We were delighted to welcome 17 wonderful guests from the United States, New Zealand, and Taiwan. It was truly a pleasure to spend time with you and share lively conversations while exploring the history and charm of Asakusa together. Unfortunately, during the tour, there were some guests who became unwell due to the heat or had to leave early to see a doctor. We hope they are feeling better now, and sincerely hope that this does not affect the rest of their travels.
Let us take this opportunity to share some tips for enjoying walking tours in the middle of summer. First, be sure to bring a hat and a bottle of water. Sunglasses and a parasol can also be helpful, if needed.
As promised, we’ve attached group photos and candid snapshots to help you remember the fun moments we shared during the tour.

A huge earthquake struck Kamchatka yesterday morning. We would like to express our deepest condolences to those who were affected by the earthquake and its massive tsunamis.
In relation to this earthquake, we would like to briefly introduce on the seismic isolation structure of the National Museum of Western Art in Ueno.
After the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake in 1995, the museum underwent a thorough examination of its earthquake resistance. The result showed that it had less than half the earthquake resistance required by the updated building standards in Japan. Therefore, the museum was urgently required to install some earthquake isolation measures. As a result, a new method called “Isolation Seismic Retrofit” was introduced, which strengthened the building’s earthquake resistance without altering its external appearance. Today the National Museum of Western Art stands on seismic isolation rubber bases. Once again, we sincerely appreciate you choosing to spend part of your valuable time in Tokyo with us. When you return to Tokyo in the future, we would be excited to welcome you on another one of our tours.
