Asakusa Tour on June 28, 2025

Asakusa

Many thanks for joining us on our tours at Asakusa on June 28th. We welcomed 8 guests from the USA. It was a tremendous opportunity for us to meet wonderful guests from many countries and to share interesting conversations. We’ve posted group photos and snapshots so that you can look back on the fun times we had.

Today, there was a ring made of sacred grass or reeds in the precincts of Asakusa Shrine. It’s called Chinawa. Chinowa could be found at Shinto shrines. Visitors walk through the ring in a special figure-eight pattern to purify themselves and pray for good health and protection from misfortune. It’s a traditional ritual called “Chinowa Kuguri.”Guests today are fortunate because we usually have this only in June and December. We hope our guests enjoyed this precious opportunity.

Once again, thank you so much for joining us on our tour. We always make efforts to improve our tours and highly appreciate your feedback on our TripAdvisor/Google. Your comments motivate us to continue our volunteer activities. Please tell your family and friends about how you enjoyed our tour. Next time you’re in Tokyo, please join another one of our tours (EastGarden of Imperial Palace, Ueno, and Meiji Shrine). We’d love to see you again!
