Many thanks for joining us on our tours at Asakusa on June 28th. We welcomed 8 guests from the USA. It was a tremendous opportunity for us to meet wonderful guests from many countries and to share interesting conversations. Today, there was a ring made of sacred grass or reeds in the precincts of Asakusa Shrine. It’s called Chinawa. Chinowa could be found at Shinto shrines. Visitors walk through the ring in a special figure-eight pattern to purify themselves and pray for good health and protection from misfortune. It’s a traditional ritual called “Chinowa Kuguri.”Guests today are fortunate because we usually have this only in June and December. We hope our guests enjoyed this precious opportunity.
