Asakusa & Ueno Park Tour on Feb. 9th, 2025; A little chilly but refreshing sunny day

Asakusa

Thank you very much for participating in the Asakusa and Ueno Park Tour held on February. 9th!!

We welcomed the total number of 10 Guests from US, Iraq, Australia, Indonesia, Germany, and France.    The day was a bright sunny day, but a bit chilly.  It’s usual that Tokyo rarely have snow even if northeast and northwest area have much.   Some of the guests already enjoyed ski in Japan and some other Guests had a plan to visit snowing area.   We wish every guest enjoyed winter season of Japan.

We posted group photos and snapshots as promised.  Hope you will be able to remember our tours with these photos!!

Now, let me introduce the yearlong Historical drama of NHK or Japan’s public broadcaster, because the drama started this year depict story happened just north area of Sensoji Temple!    To promote this, the drama PR museum has just started nearby.

This popular historical drama series has been broadcast on Sunday nights for more than 60 years and covered a lot of well-known heroes until now.

The hero of this year is a “publishing producer” in the mid-Edo period or around 280 years ago. Not to mention publishing at that time means wood block print. He was the man who unearthed and promoted talented Ukiyo-e artists who painted beautiful women and actors, and truly sparked Edo culture; named Tsuta-Ju.

*Drama title “べらぼう” pronounced Bera-Bou, translated to “UNBOUND” to promote overseas.  Meaning of this word is “do much more than everyone believes enough”.

Because of the freshness of the story together with the young popular actor, I have a feeling it’s going to be a hit.  Anyway, historical dramas are still remaining as an indispensable source of entertainment for the Japanese.   Why don’t you drop by if you have a chance.
