By the way, Sensoji Temple holds various events throughout the year. Some of you may have seen the final picture of the history telling plates. Which depicts the Golden Dragon Dance, the Dance of Egret and the Seven Lucky Deities.
Among these, the Golden Dragon Dance will coming soon. This dance was created in 1958 when the main hall was reconstructed, and is a reproduction of the Golden Dragon Dance, which is also the name of the temple, and is based on the auspicious origins of Sensoji Temple.
It is performed twice a year, on March 18th, the day Kannon appeared, and on October 18th, the day of the Chrysanthemum Memorial Service. It is a magnificent sight to see about 70 local young men working together to perform the 15m-long, 80kg dragon dance!
