East Gardens of the Imperial Palace

Christmas is comming!🎄 : Tour report of the East Garden of the Imperial Palace on December 17, 2025

East Gardens of the Imperial Palace

On behalf of our guides, we just wanted to send a few words of gratitude. Thank you for joining our weekday tour at East Garden of the Imperial Palace on December 17th. We welcomed 7 from Canada, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The group was divided into 2. I hope all of you enjoyed our tour in the wonderful warm weather. We’ve posted group photos and snapshots so that you can look back on the fun times we had.

Now most of the Japanese people are looking forward to having a Christmas day. Christmas in Japan is a little different from that in other countries. It has little religious significance and is a national event that can be enjoyed even by non-Christians. Especially young people in Japan place greater importance on spending time with their partners than with their families. They also consider Christmas Eve more important than Christmas day itself. Spending Christmas Eve alone is seen as a very lonely and sad thing for them. However, if you are spending Christmas in Japan, the best way to enjoy a Japanese-Style Christmas is to eat whole roasted chicken or fried chicken(especially KFC’s) and Christmas cake (the kind decollated with strawberries). You can buy them easily at any underground floor of Department Store (we call DEPACHIKA) or Supermarkets. Then head out to the light-up events happening all over town. You’ll be so happy like Japanese. Let’s try it!

Tokyo Free Walking Tour is a volunteer group that is focused on small group tours with multiple guides. Our guides have a strong passion about our community, culture and history. Enjoy having a one-on-one conversation with them in a small group. We have six tours(East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, Asakusa, Meiji Shrine & Harajuku, Ueno Park, Around Japan in a half day and Yanaka & Nezu). Participating in multiple tours with us is common and popular among our guests.

Your feedback is important and helpful to us. If you enjoyed our tour, please consider
posting a review on our TripAdvisor, Google etc. Your comments will help contribute to higher-quality tours. Once again, thank you for choosing Tokyo Free Walking Tour
