Meiji Shrine and Harajuku

Enjoy hot and humid summer; Tour Report of Meiji Jingu Shrine and Harajuku town, 6 July 2025

Meiji Shrine and Harajuku

Thank you very much to the guests who participated in the tour. On that day we hosted 11 guests from USA, UK, France and Spain. It was a sunny, very hot and humid day.

As promised, photos taken during the tour are posted here to recall fun memories we shared together.

We’ve already entered the very summer season. So in such a hot and humid day, please do not forget to bring water, hat and cooling tools such as a fan when going outside.

Luckily we could see the wedding procession at the shrine.

As you can imagine, in such weather the couple should feel very hot inside their costumes. Japan’s summer is very hot and humid. You not only feel hot but very wet on your skin.

But rather than complaining about how uncomfortable you feel, why not utilize this feeling to create an unique pleasant summer experience?

For example in Kyoto, there is a summer specialty dining place called “Nouryodoko, Cooling Floor”, set-up balconies of restaurants on riverside of Kamo River along Pontocho, a famous town of Geisha.

Although these are on riverside, it is still very hot outside.

There, you can enjoy drinking a cold beer, which tastes very nice because you can really feel cold and tasty compared to drinking in an air-conditioned room.

There are many outdoor drinking places in Tokyo as well. Tokyo Free Walking Tour guides know such good information. Why not join our tours and learn about it so you can truly enjoy Japan’s summer!

To our guest on July 6th – we’d love to hear your feedback!
