Many thanks to the guests who participated in the tour of Tokyo Free Walking Tour on that day. On that day we hosted 42 guests from all over the world including UK, Bulgaria, Romania, Israel, Australia, Germany, USA, Italy and Philippines. It was cloudy but moderately warm weather.
We hope all of you enjoyed and shared interesting conversations with us during the tour. As promised, group photos and snapshots are attached to remember the fun times we shared.

In this tour, we can experience the old and new aspects of Japan as we stroll both the traditional shrine area and modern fashionable town.

But such new and old aspects are not only the landscape of these areas but museums in the town.

We stop by Ota Museum which exhibits Japan’s old-time calligraphic arts but in contrast there is a modern art museum in the same town, UESHIMA Museum.

To go there,

Walk down from the ending point of the tour, which is the start point of Cat Street to the end of the street and then turn left. https://maps.app.goo.gl/f4VDpntiKBrr1JQH6
Over there you can view very progressive works of art. Great contrast with traditional arts.

Experiencing the old and new things at the same time gives you a good life lesson. There is commonality between the two. We are living in modern time while utilizing the old time establishment like how Meiji Emperor enshrined at the shrine modernised Japan while retaining traditional values in the late 19th century. Meiji Emperor character was portrayed in this manner in a Hollywood film “The Last Samurai” in which Tom Cruz played a protagonist, military officer training Japanese military servicemen.
This is the very tour to learn how we move to the new era not losing good values of the past. Why not join us to learn about it?
