Many thanks for joining our tours at Asakusa and Ueno Park on September 29, 2024. We welcomed 50 guests from US, UK, Australia, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Israel, Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Venezuela, Ireland, and Switzerland. It was a tremendous opportunity for us to meet wonderful guests from many countries and share interesting conversations. As promised, group photos and snapshots are attached so that you can remember the fun times we had during the tour.
Early morning, September 29, two giant pandas Ri Ri and Shin Shin at Ueno Zoo returned to China. They are 19 years old, which is about 60 in human years. Both have high blood pressure and are taking medication. These pandas were on loan from China as a sign of the friendly relationship between Japan and China. After discussing with China, it was decided that it would be best for the pandas to return to China for medical treatment. It is so sad that they had to leave because pandas are very loved by everyone in Japan. However, we must say thank you to the pandas. Because they have healed our broken hearts anytime during the pandemic. Currently, Ueno Zoo has twin male and female pandas. There are also four female pandas at Nanki-Shirahama Adventure World in Wakayama prefecture. In this situation, we are concerned that no baby pandas will be born in the future.
The combined tour with Asakusa in the morning and Ueno Park in the afternoon is not mandated, but it is just our recommendation. You can choose either of the tours as you wish.
