Many thanks for joining Tokyo Free Walking Tour at Asakusa on August 24, 2025. We welcomed 5 guests from Germany, USA and Switzerland. It was a tremendous opportunity for us to meet wonderful guests from many countries and share interesting conversations. As promised, group photos and snapshots are attached so that you can remember the fun times we had during the tour.

It was a very hot and humid day, and we were carefully mindful of the risk of heat stroke. Even in such extremely severe weather, we were able to enjoy ourselves and share valuable information with each other. We tried to enjoy our conversation in the shade.

We saw some people wearing yukata. It is a casual summer kimono made of cotton. It is light and comfortable, and people often wear it at summer festivals, fireworks displays, and in hot spring towns. One of the summer festivals is Bon Odori. It is a traditional Japanese folk dance performed during the Obon season in summer. People dance in a circle to the rhythm of drums and music, often wearing yukata. It is a way to honor the spirits of ancestors.

One of our guests was carrying a Japanese travel guidebook—and it was full of sticky notes! It was clear he had studied Japan before coming. As guides, we were able to share our own insights as Japanese natives—things you won’t usually find in a guidebook—and it seemed like our guest really enjoyed it.
