Many thanks for joining Tokyo Free Walking Tour at Asakusa on January 18, 2025. We welcomed 9 guests from Australia and Sweden. It was a tremendous opportunity for us to meet wonderful guests from many countries and share interesting conversations. As promised, group photos and snapshots are attached so that you can remember the fun times we had during the tour.
Some guests asked why they could see many students wearing their school uniforms even on the weekend on the public train or bus. As you may know, from January to March is a peak season for entrance examinations. Then, the students feel nervous about passing the exam. Ema is a small wooden plate found at Shinto shrines. People write their wishes and dedicate it to the shrine. At the shrine which enshrines the deity of academics, you can see many Ema from students who wish for passing the entrance exam.
Some parents give overprotective parenting and excessively interfere in their children’s entrance exam preparations, which is a significant social problem in Japan these days. Our guides may have different opinions about this issue. If you would like to know about real Japan, please join our tours to exchange opinions.
Once again, thank you for choosing Tokyo Free Walking Tour during your precious time in Tokyo. In case you happen to be back in Tokyo, please join another one of our tours.
