Many thanks for joining Tokyo Free Walking Tour at Asakusa on March 1, 2025. We welcomed 10 guests from US, Australia, Italy, Canada, Germany. It was a tremendous opportunity for us to meet wonderful guests from many countries and share interesting conversations. Today was very warm, making it perfect for our tour. Perhaps because of that, Asakusa seemed more crowded than usual. The Tokyo Marathon is scheduled to take place on March 2nd, and one of our guests will be participating. It is said that a competition rate to participate the event is about 10 times. She was able to secure a spot because her company supports donations for the event. Although the marathon is tomorrow, we already saw some people running in unique costume on the streets of Asakusa. I look forward to an exciting and enjoyable race.
San-kan-shi-on is a Japanese term that describes a weather pattern in early spring, typically around late February to March. It literally means “three cold days, four warm days,” referring to a cycle where cold weather lasts for about three days, followed by a period of warmer temperatures for about four days.
