Meiji Shrine and Harajuku

Tour Report of Meiji Shrine & Harajuku on March 2, 2025

Meiji Shrine and Harajuku

Many thanks to those who participated in Tokyo Free Walking Tour at Meiji Shrine and Harajuku.  It was so cheerful that it felt like we jumped straight into the middle of Spring today.  On such a lovely day, we welcomed 11 guests from Germany, USA, Italy and Spain.  The conversations with the guests covered a wide range of topics: scholarship system, tuition-free education, Indian feng shui, and so on.  One guest recommended her favorite restaurants in Tokyo.  Some other guests joined our Asakusa or East Gardens of the Imperial Palace tours as well. Moreover, they are so active and curious that they will visit all around Japan such as Kanazawa, Miyajima, Osaka, Mt. Koya, Kyoto, and Hiroshima.

It was a tremendous opportunity for us to meet wonderful guests all over the world and to share interests and views with each other.  Tokyo Free Walking Tour is a small group tour with two or three guides, so please feel free to join us and enjoy more and more friendly conversations with the local guides.

As promised, group photos and snapshots are attached so that you can remember the fun we had together during the tour.

Some guests luckily met with wedding processions.  Shinto is deeply rooted in the way of Japanese daily life.  People visit a shrine on every occasion of life events such as a new-born baby, 7-5-3, coming of age, or marriage, and pray for their healthy growth and happiness.  There is no specific shrine where people should visit.  They can choose one according to one’s own preference.

Once again, thank you very much for joining Tokyo Free Walking Tour during your precious time in Tokyo.  Your comments or feedback are always important and helpful to us all.  Please consider posting a review on our Facebook, homepage, Instagram etc., if you like.
