Many thanks for joining our tours at Asakusa and Ueno Park on May 26, 2024. We welcomed 24 guests from US, Australia, India, Israel, Germany, Spain and Poland It was a tremendous opportunity for us to meet wonderful guests from many countries and share interesting conversations. As promised, group photos and snapshots are attached so that you can remember the fun times we had during the tour.
Do you know about Tsuyu, the rainy season in Japan? In Japan, the rainy season is generally from the end of May to the beginning of July. If you are a guest from a dry country, you may not feel very comfortable. I will give you a brilliant idea to enjoy the rainy season. It is to enjoy hydrangea flowers which are the symbol of the rainy season. Depending on where you are in Japan, the best time for hydrangea viewing falls from May to July. Did you know its color varies from plant to plant? This is due to the pH value of the soil in which it is planted. The color varieties are pink, blue, and purple. There are many hydrangea gardens nationwide generally available to visit, often situated in temples with an entrance fee.
<Asakusa>
In 2006, the “Hydrangea Road” was established at Sumida River Park, and approximately 10,000 hydrangeas can be seen along a 2-kilometer stretch of the park. We encourage you to take great photos to post on social media.
<Ueno Park>
Various kinds of hydrangeas are planted in Ueno Park. Cherry blossom season is not the only enjoyable season. In Japan, there are four distinct seasons to enjoy. In July, lotus flowers can be admired at Shinobazu Pond.
The combined tour with Asakusa in the morning and Ueno Park in the afternoon is not mandated, but it is just our recommendation. You can choose either of the tours as you wish.
