Ueno Park

Ueno Park Tour on 31st July,2024

Ueno Park

Thank you for choosing our tour at Ueno Park on July 31st, 2024. We welcomed 2 guests from Mexico and Bolivia. I hope all of you enjoyed and shared interesting conversations with us during the tour. As promised, group photo and snapshot are attached to remember the fun times we had.

It is melting hot summer. Heat stroke alert has been issued by Meteorological Agency to encourage people to take preventive measures such as to stay hydrated. We try to be in shade to secure safety of guests and guides as well. As you see, parasol is a good idea to guard you from the sum.

We want more coolness in the air. So I’d like to recommend some cool places around Ueno Park.

First, Shinobazu Pond. Now lotus flowers are in full bloom and the serene scenery would let you forget the heat around you. Especially, they have wind bells decoration and their sounds by gentle breeze really heal your mind.

Second, Shaved Ice. Absolutely cold. Shaved Ice has established an unique position in Japanese sweets mania and there are many specialty shops. You have choices from Strawberry flavor, melon, mango, macha to pumpkin cream caramel.

Here is a picture of Macha Shaved Ice. Actually, This is a food sample made of plastic.

Third. Horror stories. Summer is season for ghost stories in Japan. Those scary stories can give you a chill. Nowadays, High tech VR system can let you experience the Haunted world.

Live doll exhibition in Tokyo National Museum

These are NOT to intended to scare you. They are works of art. These are dolls made by HIRATA Gouyo (1903-1981) , a doll artist, designated as Living National Treasure.

Special exhibition is held in Tokyo National Museum in Ueno Park until Sep.1st, 2024. Avoiding summer heat in cool palce like a museum is one of the best idea around Ueno Park.

Once again, thank you so much for joining us on our tour. We always make efforts to
improve our tours and highly appreciate your feedback on our TripAdvisor/Facebook
etc. Your comments motivate us to continue our volunteer activities. Please tell your
family and friends about how you enjoyed our tour. Please join another one of our tours. (by Sakamoto)
