On behalf of our guides, I just wanted to send a few words of gratitude. Thank you forjoining our tour at Meiji Shrine and Harajuku on Nov 5th. We welcomed 19 guestsfrom USA, Canada, Australia, Ireland and Indonesia. The group was divided into four teams. Although it was an unseasonably warm day, we enjoyed walking through the forest and town, where we could feel the signs of autumn. We’ve posted group photos and snapshots so that you can look back on the fun times we had. <Group A> <Group B> <Group C> <Group D> During the tour, we enjoyed Chrysanthemum exhibition in the main approach road. There were many varieties of beautiful flowers and elaborated presentations. The emperor Meiji and The Empress Shoken are enshrined in Meiji Jingu Shrine and Chrysanthemum is a family crest of the imperial family. In fact, the flower language of chrysanthemum is “Noble” in Japan. On the other hand, I heard in English speaking countries it is “Cheerfulness”. I feel like it symbolizes our tour, too!!This exhibition will run until Nov 23rd. Why don’t you join our next tour on Nov 19th? We always strive to give high-quality tours. Your feedback is very important and usefulto […]

Tour Report of the East Garden of the Imperial Palace, 28 October 2023

  • 2023.10.29

Thank you to those who participated in the tour. On that day we hosted 25 people from USA, UK, New Zealand, Mexico, Philippines, Serbia, Australia and Germany. We divided into three groups. It was a mild clear sky autumn day. We hope all of you enjoyed and shared interesting conversations with us during the tour. As promised, group photos and snapshots are attached to remember the fun times we had. The leaves on the street are turning brown and yellow, so called autumn leaves. In the East Garden, Japanese typical autumn fruits, Kaki (persimmons) were coming out. These fruits taste like mixture of apple, orange, and melon. Seeing Kaki fruits coming out is one of the signs that autumn season already arrived here. We could truly share the peaceful moments with one another on that day. But sadly in some parts of the world, wars are raging and many people are dying. We used to welcome people from these war zones. We are worried if they are safe. We wish the wars end very soon. We always wish for the world peace. We believe our activities contribute to keeping the world in peace by communicating with one another face to […]

(Asakusa Twilight Group A) (Asakusa Twilight Group B) This year marks the 150th anniversary of the establishment of Ueno Park, so events were being held on this day as well, and there were more threads than usual, making it more lively. The Golden Dragon Dance in Asakusa (October 18)

  • 2023.10.19

TFWT appreciate your participation in our tour to Sensoji Temple in Asakusa on October 18.  22 people kindly joined us from Australia, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Spain, Germany, Canada and USA. The weather was perfect in the middle of autumn. It was lucky enough for us to see a twice-a-year event in Asakusa. I hope you enjoyed walking and seeing the dance performance with us. As promised, group photos and snap shots are posted.  It was the Golden Dragon Dance on the Sensoji Temple grounds. To commemorate the reconstruction of its main hall in 1958 after WWⅡ, Sensoji Temple has started the event to revitalize Asakusa and has been continuing until now. The Dragon Dance is held twice a year on March 18 and October 18. It originates from the mountain name of Sensoji Temple, Kinryu-san or Golden Dragon Mountain. When the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy housed in the main hall appeared in the world in the 7th century, it is said that the Dragon with golden scales descended from the sky and ever since has been protecting the Goddess. The Dragon is 18 meters long and weighs about 88 kilograms. It’s manipulated by the eight men and the dance […]

Weekly Tour Report of the East Garden of the Imperial Palace on October 17.

  • 2023.10.18

Thank you for choosing our weekly tour at on October 17. We welcomed 5guests from UK, Singapore, U.S.A and Spain. I hope all of you enjoyedand shared interesting conversations with us during the tour. As promised, groupphotos and snapshots are attached to remember the fun times we had. Yesterday was the perfect day for the tour because there wasn’t a cloud in the blue sky and it was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the leaves on the trees haven’t yet changed color. However, we enjoyed full broom of fragrant olives and its scent. Speaking of the colored leaves, if you want to see the colored leaves during your stay in Japan, you should go mountain area. I highly recommend around Hakuba in Nagano prefecture. You can see the beautiful colored leaves and snow-capped mountains now. It’s colder than Tokyo, so be sure to bring warm clothing and take trekking shoes. It takes 3 hours to get to Hakuba on the Chuo Main Line. In addition, if you have some free time in your schedule, get off at the Hotaka on the way and visit a wasabi farm or eat soba noodles. Please keep in mind Soba may cause allergies. Be carefully!   […]

Tour Report of the East Garden of the Imperial Palace, 14 October 2023, Autumn for Art!

  • 2023.10.15

Many thanks to the guest who joined the tour. On that day we hosted 28 people from USA, Mexico, France, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, Libya, South Korea, and Spain. We hope all of you enjoyed and shared interesting conversations with us during the tour. As promised, group photos and snapshots are attached to remember the fun times we had. The weather was very fine for the tour. It was clear sky and dry air. The season is turning autumn and no more heat was waving in the city. However, this time of the year is difficult for residents in Japan since the temperature can be cooler than summer but warmer than the average of autumn. We have to be cautious about our body condition adjustment in the changing of the season, especially from summer to autumn, as well as autumn to winter, which might come very soon. Sometimes we have difficulty in choosing what to wear outside. Autumn is said to be the season for sports, appetite, and art in Japan. Speaking of art, near the ending point of the tour, Hirakawamon Bridge is the National Museum of the Modern Art. It is located in only a few minutes walk […]

I hope all of you enjoyed and shared interesting conversations with us during the tour. As promised, group photos and snapshots are attached to remember the fun times we had. We thank our guests for participating despite the heavy rain. Unfortunately, we did not encounter any wedding processions during our tour due to the day of “Sakimake”, which is considered bad luck in the morning but turns into good luck later in the day. We hope you will have the next opportunity. Group A guests visited the Togo Shrine Harajuku which is right behind Harajuku Takeshita Street. It is known as the god of victory since it is dedicated to Heihachiro Togo who led Japan to victory in the Russo-Japanese War during the Meiji era. It is a power spot that is also visited by athletes such as Keisuke Honda of Japanese football player. October is called “Kannazuki”, Month without Gods. It is said that Shinto gods from all over Japan gather at Izumo Taisha Shrine in Shimane Prefecture. Shinto rituals are held regarding matters […]
