Autumn Encounters in Ueno and Asakusa🍂 – November 23rd Tour Report

Asakusa
Five-story pagoda & autumn leaves

Asakusa in November becomes even more photogenic, with Shichi-Go-San children in vivid kimonos and golden & crimson autumn leaves.

Our 13 guests from Argentina, Canada, India, Malaysia, and the United States enjoyed capturing these vibrant scenes during our Asakusa and Ueno tours.

We, the Tokyo Free Walking Tour Guides, were delighted to see how the tour deepened bonds among families and friends—and sparked chance encounters among guests.

As a Buddhist saying goes, “Sode furi au mo tasho no en”—“Even the brushing of sleeves is a bond from previous lives.” Or, as Haruki Murakami artfully put it in Kafka on the Shore: “Even chance meetings are the result of karma.”

November 23rd was especially crowded in both Ueno and Asakusa, and we certainly “brushed sleeves” many times—including our brief but cheerful encounter.

Wishing you a beautiful winter ahead.
