“A New Beginning in life” Tour report of the Eastern Garden of the Imperial Palace on March 20

East Gardens of the Imperial Palace

Thank you for joining the Tokyo Free Walking Tour at the eastern garden of the Imperial Palace on March 20. We were delighted to welcome 29 guests from Mexico, Australia, Austria, Germany, Spain, Brazil, the UK, the US, Israel, and Argentina. Despite yesterday’s unseasonal snowfall and severe cold in Tokyo, today we enjoyed a pleasant excursion in great weather. We hope you had a wonderful time exploring, engaging in interesting conversations with our guides and fellow participants. As promised, we’ve attached group photos and snapshots to capture and commemorate our memorable experience together.

“Spring is around the corner”

The Japanese archipelago extends over 3500 kilometers from north to south, but most parts of Japan belong to a temperate zone that experiences four distinct seasons. Each season provides us with its own beautiful landscapes and food. In particular, spring offers us a unique blessing. After enduring a cold and harsh winter, many plants begin to bud and bloom, and insects become lively. Particularly, cherry blossoms are a visual delight. Entrance ceremonies for schools and companies take place during the first week of April, as the fiscal year commences on the first day of April in Japan. This period coincides with the blooming of cherry blossoms. They serve as a symbol of a new beginning in life for many Japanese.
