Many thanks for joining us on our tours at Asakusa in the morning and Ueno in the afternoon on May 28th. We welcomed 24guests from 5 countries, USA, UK, Philippine, Italy and Colombia, and thankfully 2 groups joined both tours. It was a tremendous opportunity for us to meet wonderful guests from many countries and to share interesting conversations. We hope every guest had great time on a nice sunny day. Even on a weekday, both Asakusa and Ueno were so lively with full of people. You may have noticed many Japanese students on their school trips in addition to foreign tourists. As promised, group photos and snapshots are attached so that you can remember the fun time we had during the tour.

Now it looks the rainy season is beginning in Tokyo. Please don’t be disappointed if you have a rainy day during your trip. It is the great chance to explore Japanese culture deeper. We will have tours even it rains. Also, you can visit museums in Ueno.
Tokyo National Museum is presenting special exhibitions related to Ukiyo-e art, one of which, “Immersive Theater on Neo-Japonism” would be a good introduction about the history of Japanese art including recent pop-cultures like Manga and Anime. It shows Japanese masterpieces on a massive 7-meter screen. You can visit another exhibition in bonus, “UKIYO-E IN PLAY”, and enjoy special woodcut prints by famous contemporary artists and cartoonists, such as Yayoi Kusama and Lee Ufan.

From the collections in Japan Gallery, I would recommend the seasonal exhibition related to insect patterns on the first floor. We Japanese have long loved the appearance and sound of some insects, and have enjoyed the transitional seasons with them, especially in summer and autumn.

Once again, thank you so much for joining us on our tour. We always make efforts to improve our tours and highly appreciate your feedback on our TripAdvisor/Facebook etc. Your comments motivate us to continue our volunteer activities. Please tell your family and friends about how you enjoyed our tour. Next time you’re in Tokyo, please join another one of our tours at East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine/Harajuku and Around Japan tour in Nihonbashi. We’d love to see you again.
