Officially founded in 2011, Tokyo Free Walking Tour has been sharing Japanese culture with international visitors.
On December 28th, we welcomed 18 guests from Cyprus, Italy, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, the United States, and Vietnam for our Asakusa and Ueno tours.
Lively Tokyo was filled with New Year decorations meant to welcome the New Year Deity and pray for prosperity and longevity, giving us moments to reflect on Japan’s enduring history.

We hope everyone in Japan enjoys this special time of year with loved ones, whether through New Year’s cooking, fresh snow, or the first sunrise.
Some guests joined us based on recommendations from friends who had taken our tours before, while others were invited by our guides on the spot today. This circle of friendship and serendipity is what we, as volunteers, cherish the most.
We wish all of you a happy New Year and hope to meet you—or your friends—next year!
